Getting Hold of Us
The fastest way to get a number that means something is to call (408) 786-3308. We're based at 1901 S Bascom Ave, Campbell, CA 95008, so if you're in San Tomas, Cambrian, or over toward Willow Glen, we're close enough to swing by and look at the actual door rather than guess from a photo.
A phone quote on anything beyond a basic spring swap is a rough number, not a real one. We can tell you a price range for a torsion spring replacement or a roller job over the phone because those parts are standard across most of the houses we see out here. Anything involving a full door or opener swap needs eyes on the opening - the width, the headroom above it, and what's already bolted to the frame.
If you're calling about a door that won't open at all, say so up front. A door stuck shut or a spring that's let go changes how soon we can get to you, and it changes what we bring on the truck. If you just want a number for a future project, that's fine too - tell us that and we'll give you a window to think it over instead of rushing you.
Who You Are Dealing With
We work on garage doors - springs, openers, tracks, panels, cables, rollers - and nothing else. We don't do general handyman work, and we don't sell unrelated home products. If a job turns out to need an electrician or a structural fix to the opening itself, we'll tell you plainly instead of taking it on anyway.
Most of the houses we work on went up between 1947 and 1985, with a lot of that stock dating to the 1960s and 70s. That matters for a quote because doors and openers from that era were built to different standard sizes and mounted with hardware that's since been phased out. A lot of our calls are about matching a replacement to an opening that was never meant for today's standard door widths.
We cover the areas within easy reach of Bascom Ave - San Tomas, Cambrian, Willow Glen, West San Jose, the Golden Triangle, Valley View - and out to Los Gatos, Saratoga, and Monte Sereno. Past that, into the hills toward Lexington Hills or Redwood Estates, we'll still take the call, but travel time factors into scheduling.
The mild year-round climate here means we're not dealing with frozen tracks or snow load on panels. What we do see is UV and heat breaking down weatherstripping and lubricant on older doors faster than owners expect.
After You Call
Once you've got a time set, the quote process is simple: we look at the door, the track, the opener if there is one, and the condition of the panel and hardware. For houses built in the 1960s and 70s window that makes up most of this area, we're often checking whether the opening was ever upsized or whether the original frame is still there under newer trim.
We'll give you a written number before any work starts, broken into parts and labor, so you can see what you're actually paying for. If we find something mid-job that wasn't visible before - a bent track hidden behind drywall, a cable that's frayed further than it looked - we stop and tell you before we touch it, not after.
Here's the honest limit: if your door or opener is old enough that replacement parts are backordered or discontinued, we'll say so rather than quote a repair we can't actually deliver on a reasonable timeline. Sometimes that means a full door swap makes more sense than chasing parts for a 1960s-era original. We'd rather tell you that at the quote stage than after you've paid a deposit.

Frequently asked questions
Can you give me a firm price over the phone?
For a straightforward torsion spring or roller replacement, yes, we can give a close range. For anything involving the door panel, track realignment, or an opener swap, we need to see the opening in person, since houses in this area vary a lot depending on when they were built and what's already installed.
Do you work outside Campbell itself?
Yes. We regularly cover San Tomas, Cambrian, Willow Glen, West San Jose, the Golden Triangle, and Valley View, along with Los Gatos, Saratoga, and Monte Sereno. Farther spots like Lexington Hills or Redwood Estates are workable too, but travel time affects scheduling.
Why can't you quote a full door replacement without seeing it?
Door width, headroom above the opening, and existing track mounts all vary, especially in houses built between 1947 and 1985 where openings weren't always standard. We need those measurements in hand before we can commit to a number that holds once we're on site.
What if the parts for my opener are discontinued?
It happens, especially with openers original to older homes. If we can't get the exact part on a reasonable timeline, we'll tell you at the quote stage and talk through whether a full opener swap makes more sense than waiting.
